What is Beauty?
I have come across some beautiful words written by the beautiful Audrey Hepburn just before she died and thought it was worth putting them in my Articles under Love and Gratitude. We must remember that we are all beautiful whatever shape or size, race or creed we are. We are all part of the whole, specks of the Divine Source. How could we not be beautiful if this is so? Just look and listen to any child and remember who you once were.
Live a Life you Love.
Came across a really good article by someone called Apollo Pampallis (great name!) from Athens who wrote beautifully about doing what you love in life. Any motivation should be passion and a genuine love of what you do. This way a job is not really a job but a way of life. It isn’t about money or fear of lack but just doing your heart’s desire. Everything will flow from that. Flow is what makes the world turn! I hope I have brought my kids up to do that and not to consign them selves to drudgery and live lack lustre lives with no vitality and no creativity. I have put his article up on my articles page under Love and Gratitude, to pass on his insights. Don’t be a slave. Be a Creator!!
Gift Tokens for Christmas
People are starting to ask me for gift tokens for Christmas. What a lovely present for a loved one. Gift them a relaxing hour or so where they can relax, unwind and recharge. I always suggest you they keep the choice as simple as possible. Just buy my time (£35 per hour) and let the giftee choose on the day the treatment they would like. I am qualified in most holistic therapies so the choice is wide. Be it a facial, massage or a Reiki treatment with guided meditation, they will leave feeling renewed ready to face the stresses and strains of Winter and the festive period.
Should you feel inclined to buy a series of treatments then I will offer a discount.
- I hour £35
- 5 hours £150 (a saving of £25)
- 10 hours £300 (a saving of £50)
And finally a benefit for you the shopper – a stress free way to show you care without going near a shop !! Everyone wins.
Acupuncture and Health.
I have just started a course of acupuncture and am learning more about my body and how it works or doesn’t! I feel good and am fascinated by the meridians. I’m so looking forward to learning more about them in a hands on way with Donna Eden and her unique approach to energy medicine. I am a great believer in the fact that knowledge is power and knowing more about your own unique energy system (inherited and otherwise) can help you to keep well. One approach is not enough. Chinese medicine treats the person and not the disease which is how it should be. It is not just about nutrition or emotions but so many factors add up to our unique profile. A health professional needs to consider inherited factors, where you live, emotional stresses, work environment, diet, weight, upbringing, relationships, disease, toxins, sleep patterns, mental attitudes, thought patterns, happiness, spiritual awareness etc before considering how a person should be treated. Today conventional doctors rarely ask what may be going on in your life outside of your physical symptoms. We are unique , complex and amazing so one size definitely does not fit all!! This is why I love what I do. I get to meet so many amazing people and learn from them. I hope to pass on some of the things I have learnt along the way to help them also. The other most important thing to take on board also is the fact that no other person on the planet is responsible for any other person’s health. That is the unique responsibility of you and you alone. So do something to change what isn’t working in your life before it makes you ill and start now!
Random Acts of Kindness.
I have just put up some new stories and poems in Articles under Inspirational Stories, that remind us that the small kindness we show to someone else can have a huge impact. We can smile at someone in the supermarket or help an old lady reach something on the top shelf and this small act can have huge consequences. How do we really know what someone else is feeling or what they may have to face up to in their lives? Like all of us I have made the sad mistake of judging someone who is grumpy or got cross with the sullen shop assistant. Yet they may be struggling with a difficult personal life, a violent partner or have a serious illness like the old lady in The Cab ride. We can make a swift judgement of the neighbour we see staggering up to their front door and label them a drunk or a druggie, but what if in reality they are suffering from Multiple Sclerosis? Why not try to help them instead. You may even make a new friend! Remember too, “What we sew so we reap. ” Maybe one day the kindness will come back to you in your hour of need!
Winter Health tips.
Here in the northern hemisphere, winter is on its way and the energy slows. We feel ourselves withdrawing and wanting to hibernate. This is a normal and natural response to the time of year. We are linked to nature and Mother Earth and need to follow her lead. Don’t fight this. Slow down. Rest more. Eat hot nutritious soups and local, organic, seasonal vegetables. Snuggle up in front of the fire and pursue those hobbies you have wanted to pursue. Read books. Sleep more. But also get out every day and breathe in the glorious colours of Nature. Isn’t it interesting that she supplies those beautiful warm tones we need so much now – the rich reds and vibrant oranges. Breathe them in and connect. When the sun burns through the gloom, allow it to warm and stimulate your third eye (the area between your eye brows.) It stimulates the pineal and pituitary. If you suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) this is very important. I will post some articles on Colour Breathing and the Rainbow Diet soon. Did you know that those people near the equator do not suffer from this disorder or certain other disorders because of the quality of Light. It seems the further we are away from the sun, the more we can suffer so make a concerted effort to wrap up and get out every day too. See my article taken from the Daily Mail about the importance of sunshine.
